Stevel on Baby Clothes for Newborns
October 3rd, 2007Stevel: “What did you get?”
Me: “I bought a cute cardigan and some little corduroy pants.”
Stevel: “Don’t you think it’s weird to put pants on someone who doesn’t even walk yet?”

Even if they don’t walk, their legs still get cold!

Stevel, Son, there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to childrens clothes. Women just buy what looks CUTE on the baby. Given their own choice they would just as soon have a good old worn pair of shorts (with large cargo pockets) and a t-shirt
Maybe some crocs. This weekend in Charlotte, our neice had the coolest, multi-rainbow colored crocs. They are her favorite footwear and she gets upset when she does not have them on. For an extremely mobile, agile 18 month old she needs those on her feet when she dares to go where no man has gone before.
Your turn next!

PS. Corduroy pants will help you to locate your daughter in the future. When she crawls and toddles, you will know where she is by the sound they make swishing.

Or it could end up like that Levi’s commercial where the sound of swishing corduroy was likened to the mating sound of a wild animal. The faster that guy in the cords ran, the more excited that animal got.
Meow.

Ok. I feel like I should clarify:
I’m not suggesting that any infant should be left with cold legs. But, there are many articles of non-pant infantwear which provide adequate insulation.
I have nothing against pants. But, they’re not my first choice for days in which I do little but sleep, eat and excrete.

Babies just want to be comfy. A comfy baby is a happy baby. And BELIEVE ME, you WANT a happy baby! When your baby is unhappy, ain’t NOBODY gonna be happy until SHE is!

Isn’t it always 72 degrees in Santa Monica? Erica was born in Fla and didn’t even OWN pants until she was 6 months old and we moved to PA. She also did not have a coat and I had the hardest time finding one for her in Fla. Hmm, stock up on pants for when you visit!!!
