Dani Update

May 5th, 2008

Dani had surgery yesterday and came through it just fine. She’s not likely to have any visible scars. She’s headed home today to start her recovery.

    Kristan, Thanks for the update. This is a wonderful way for everyone to know how she is doing. It is hard to believe that patients are sent home from the hospital so quickly. I guess that means that everything is progressing well. Regards to Dani and her sister, mother and father.

    I agree with Nana, amazing that such series injuries are so directly “fixable”…

    Glad she’s going to be ok.

    Not only is she doing well, she is back to her old tricks with a couple of new twists. First of all since one side of her face has undergone reconstructive surgery, she has this one sided smile and mischevious grin. Cheri says it is cute beyond words.

    Secondly she has already discovered new ways to torment her parents. Take for instance her fake death drop from the couch to the floor. She knows what she is doing and catches herself in time. This does not stop Cheri and Brian’s hearts from dropping ALL of the way to the floor though. And I guess Dani likes to see them both run to catch her before she hits her face on the ground. She giggle sand laughs at them, out of her one sided face that is.

    So I guess the best I can report is that she and the family are doing well.

    So glad to hear she is doing well. I’ve been thinking about her a lot.
