Ice Cream Soon?

July 2nd, 2008

This is my friend Emily, age 8. She lives in Penna. and is the daughter of my longest-time friend, Tracey. Emily is having her tonsils taken out today, and her mom is one nervous girl. Please send your positive energies in their direction.

When Steve first met Emily, at her house, he was with me, and she said to him, “Why are you so small?” He replied, “Look who’s talking.”

Also, if you’re feeling charitable, please go to this link and donate a few bucks to the fund for helping with medical costs for an acquaintance of ours from our Savannah days who was randomly shot at point-blank range by a stranger a few days ago: Why?

That just sucks. Sounds like Gang related shooting to me. Shoot a stranger to make your bones and get in the gang. Pauline and I will be sending a check.

Go Emily. I scream, you scream we all scream for Ice Cream! Yeah!

I’m so sorry about your friend. Random violence is a scary thing because it brings home the fact that it could happen to you just as quick and as senselessly. I guess the only thing that you can do is to appreciate each day that you have with those that you love.

Hope Emily is AOK and Tracey and Rob are, too. Surgery on your child is pretty frightening. The kids are a lot less scared than the adults, probably.
